Staff Picks: 5 Favorite Songs Of The Week Vol. 20
Every week, a member of the EDM.com team collects a list of their favorite tracks from the last week. This week, our Staff Picks are curated by Lauren Mikkor, and she has hand-selected a number of diverse tracks ranging from late-night deep house to mainstage-ready progressive house.
Here are Lauren's 5 favorite tracks of the week:
Caribou – Can’t Do Without You (Nick Muir Remix)
Nick Muir put a his own spin on Caribou's "Can't Do Without You," re-editing the storming original from Caribou's breathtaking album Our Love. The track has reportedly been a favorite of John Digweed, as the dance music veteran frequently closes his sets with the track. Muir's remix transforms the original into a dark and mysterious late night masterpiece that is captivating from start to finish.
Junge Junge - Beautiful Girl ft. Kyle Pearce (Tube & Berger Remix)
Tube & Berger's remix of Junge Junge's "Beautiful Girl" magnifies and enhances every ounce of dance potential in this tune. The result is a luscious sound that casts a light shadow over what begins as a covert remix, promptly proving that Tube & Berger's stark contrasts are still much acclaimed after some very valuable contributions to electronic music.
Alesso - Cool ft. Roy English (Sweater Beats Remix)
The latest chart-topping single "Cool" ft Roy English from Swedish hit factory Alesso has been given a heavy, symphonic makeover from NY-based beat guru Sweater Beats. The progressive track has inspired some pretty rad remixes so far, but the Sweater Beats re-vamp is an unquestionable standout. Preserving much of the bravado of the original, this new rendition brings with it a new definition of “Cool,” incorporating a smooth sound that embeds an added summer-ready, house party vibe to the original.
Tim Mason & Marrs TV ft. Harrison - Eternity
Arriving in the form of a euphoric anthem, Tim Mason & Marrs TV have brought in the talent of Harrison for their powerful new collaboration "Eternity." The Spinnin' Records track has the potential to bring crowds to new heights and will most likely not go unnoticed by the industry's biggest names this festival season.
Colleen D'Agostino feat. Deadmau5 - Stay
With the recent debut of Colleen D’Agostino’s EP Collide, “Stay” is an irresistible track right now. Featuring production from a certain mau5, the breathtakingly beautiful and sedative track combines sultry vocals with a more melodic version of Deadmau5's signature sound. There have also been whispers of an extended "Drop The Poptart" edit that may or may not surface in the near future.
