With the culmination of Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival, the 30th annual International Dance Music Awards took place in Miami and wrapped up what could potentially be considered one of the biggest years in dance music history. The event honored the world’s top DJs and producers, in addition to renowned nightclubs, media outlets and record labels. The accolades crowned the innovators and leaders who dominated their space throughout the past year. 57 categories were voted on this year, and worldwide superstars like Hardwell, Calvin Harris, Skrillex and Porter Robinson held onto their thrones.

Hardwell, who was nominated for a whopping 9 IDMAs this year, took home 5 awards, including the IDMA for “Best Global DJ,” “Best Progressive/Electro DJ,” “Best Podcast or Radio Mixshow DJ,” amongst others. Calvin Harris dominated the crossover categories, taking home the hardware for “Best EDM/Pop DJ” and “Best Producer,” while his track “Summer” won “Best Commercial/Pop Dance track” in addition to winning the IDMA for “Best Music Video.” Tiesto’s album, A Town Called Paradise, was awarded “Best Full Length Recording.”

Deadmau5 joined in the festivities, as he was crowned “Best Solo Artist.” Unsurprisingly, Skrillex and Armin Van Buuren dominated their genres, taking home “Best Dubstep/Drum & Bass DJ” and “Best Trance DJ” respectively. Claude VonStroke’s San Francisco-based record label, Dirtybird, took home a well-deserved award for “Best Indie/Underground Label,” while fast-rising artists of 2014 like Oliver Heldens, Galantis, Madeon and Axwell /\ Ingrosso were all recognized as well.

The 30th annual International Dance Music Awards had a lot to celebrate, and the success of dance music only serves to make 2015 an even bigger year with lots more to look forward to.
