Grammy winner, Aphex Twin, Will Release New Music In April
UK-based producer, Aphex Twin, announced that new music is on the way just months after taking home the Grammy award for the 2015 “Best Dance/Electronic Album” for his work, Syro.
In April, the talented producer will put out a vinyl release of “MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96,” which was first previewed on the Japanese version of Syro. The release will also contain an updated version of another Syro track, “XMAS_EVET10 (thanaton3 mix).” The vinyl is set to be released April 3rd in Australia, April 6th in the UK and Europe and April 7th in North America, so mark your calendar and prepare to snag your copy.
This white label, 12-inch vinyl release comes after Aphex Twin surprise-released his EP, Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt. 2, in January of 2015. The surprise release came shortly after a mysterious SoundCloud user, user487363530, uploaded more than 100 Aphex Twin demos for download. The first track that was uploaded, “8 Utopia,” was tagged #likeearlyaphex with the comment, “Like early aphex but I’d never heard of him when I wrote all these tracks I'm going to be uploading.” The rest of the demos were tagged similarly, leading Aphex Twin fans to believe that this mysterious user may, in fact, be Richard D. James himself.
While we may never crack this SoundCloud mystery, we can look forward to the vinyl release of “MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96.”
