90 Collaborators, 1 Album: 'Compass' to be Released on Mad Decent

Mad Decent’s Toy Selectah has joined forces with the Mexican Institute of Sound to produce Compass. This massive collaboration album features 90 artists ranging from Boy George, Stereo MCs, Crystal Fighters, Nina Sky and more.

The project is one of a global nature, with the compilation of recordings originating from Japan, Mexico City, Jamaica, and London, to name a few. In a challenge to collaborate with artists that transcend the sounds of EDM, Selectah partnered with artists representing a range of genres from reggae to punk, stating in an interview with Billboard, that “this album is like our PhD thesis on global music production.”

It’s always exciting to see EDM artists break from traditional sounds and the safety of synthetic beats, and Compass is a piece of art that consciously separates itself from the norm. Take a look at the complete list of collaborators below for a better idea of what to anticipate.
