Anjunafamily Comes Out Big For Above & Beyond In Austin

One of the most renowned groups in EDM, Above & Beyond, has been hit with the devastating loss. The passing of Jono Grant’s immediate family members has rendered him unable to participate in the rest of Above & Beyond’s US Tour. In a heartfelt post to fans, Jono outlined the impact his sister had on his development as a person and made note of his need to be with family as they grieve.

Needless to say, the group’s fans have responded with unprecedented support and encouragement. We were able to catch their show in Austin, Texas at Austin Music Hall, and were blown away by how fans came armed with signs expressing solidarity.

Despite the fact that Jono and Tony McGuinness were absent, leaving Paavo Siljamäki to man the decks for the night, fans made it a point to exude an incredible amount of positive energy that really encapsulated values of PLUR that Above & Beyond embrace in their productions. The conclusion of the set was met with a message on stage by the trio expressing gratitude to their fanbase, and making clear that Anjunafamily is “more than a word.”

The strong connection between Above & Beyond and their fan base has never been clearer than now. Despite the sad nature of events that have transpired, it is so encouraging to realize that this is a community where artists and fans support each other through hardship and celebration.
