Avicii To Be Inducted Into EDM Hall Of Fame
Most recently, it was A-Trak. Now, Avicii is being celebrated for his contributions to electronic dance music. Avicii will be inducted into Pete Tong's Hall of Fame during an honorary ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 1 tonight at 10pm GMT. The Swedish DJ/producer is being recognized for the tremendous influence his releases like "Levels" and "Wake Me Up" have had on the electronic dance music world.
The first inductee into Pete Tong's Hall of Fame was Martin Solveig in 2013, and over the past couple of years weekly ceremonies have honored classic artists like Frankie Knuckles, Deep Dish and Richie Hawtin as well as contemporaries like Benny Benassi, Calvin Harris and A-Trak. Only Tong could host such a series, as his name has become synonymous with the global spread of dance music.
