This is not something you see every day. Porter Robinson, Mat Zo and The M Machine threw an exclusive party at a small club in Los Angeles called Fais Do Do last night with the help of talent management company Slush Management and promotional company Versus. The very unlikely 100-capacity venue became the location of a uniquely intimate performance with a secret lineup that many are calling both companies' biggest to date.
The party was promoted in a minimalist fashion through online avenues, and the secret headliners' time slots were bordered by those of Slush mainstays Madeaux and Matt Lange. In addition to the big names on the secret lineup, major artists like Valentino Khan, LA Riots and Lazerdisk were in attendance.
Check out the cryptic flyer for the event below:
The promotional stunt speaks to the enduring values of dance music's elite. Even as raves become more and more like traditional concerts, the clandestine nature of events like these can still drum up as much of a buzz as a major festival lineup while simultaneously reminding us that - at the end of the day - it's all about the music.
Close your eyes and picture this epic, up-close-and-personal performance as you listen to Robinson's new remix of Nero's "The Thrill"...
