Diplo And Gucci Mane Announce New Collaborative Album

Four years ago, Diplo released a mixtape of Gucci Mane remixes. The 15-track mixtape was entitled Diplo Presents: Free Gucci (Best Of The Cold War Mixtapes), an obvious reference to his 2011 incarceration, one of several for the chart-topping rapper.

For this recently-announced project, it appears the two artists have teamed up to create something completely new. The collaborative album was officially announced via an excited Tweet from Gucci. After which, Diplo posted a Tweet saying it's actually not an EDM, but that they are in fact working on an album.

Rapper Gucci Mane has topped multiple Billboard charts in his day. His 2010 album The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted debuted at #4 on the US Billboard 200 Chart, and his 2011 EP The Return of Mr. Zone 6 charted at #2 on the Rap Albums chart. We can only imagine what will come from combining the talents of the hit rapper and Mad Decent mastermind. These two powerhouses have the potential to produce something truly groundbreaking.

While no other details are currently available, we'll be sure to keep you updated on the project. In the meantime, enjoy these three tracks from Diplo's Gucci remix tape...
