There’s no denying that the LA-based dance imprint, OWSLA, is one of the most forward-thinking and eclectic record labels in EDM right now. OWSLA head honcho, Skrillex, and his crew consistently push the envelope with their new artists, tracks, albums, and music videos. With artists like Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, Snails, Yogi, and more all part of the OWSLA family, it’s clear why Skrillex’s iconic imprint is always at the forefront of dance music.
Mija and Ghastly are two of the newest members to be welcomed to the OWSLA family. The two artists made their OWSLA debut with their collaboration, “Crank It” featuring Lil Jon, which was released as a part of the imprint’s massive 28-track EGGNOG 2014 compilation. On “Crank It,” the LA-native, Ghastly, and LA-transplant, Mija, draw inspiration from the thriving West Coast bassline scene, pairing the heavy-hitting bass with a touch of grit that makes the track equal parts irresistible bounce and hard-hitting house.
Now, Mija and Ghastly are back with a 80s sci-fi inspired music video for their future house banger. The music video follows Mija and Ghastly, who are siblings living in a suburban home, as their family is abducted by aliens. This is definitely one of the more out-of-the-box music videos we’ve seen as of late, but you can check out the music video below.
