Daft Punk Receives An Unlikely Cover From 90s Pop Sensation
We definitely didn't see this coming. Daft Punk's "Instant Crush" just received a cover by none other than Natalie Imbruglia, whose biggest claim to fame was her international 90's hit single and cover "Torn." Even if you missed out on the 90s, you've most likely heard this once-radio-mainstay before. And once you are reminded of singer/songwriter Imbruglia's work, it makes it all the more interesting to see her take on dance music legends Daft Punk.
The Daft Punk remake will be the leading track on her upcoming cover album, Male. The album's title is a hint to its premise. Imbruglia aimed to create her take on songs performed solely by male singers. "Instant Crush" and vocalist Julian Casablancas's smooth voice were an ideal candidate for this body of work.
