Kaskade Honors Late Mother Of EDC Founder In Special Way
A memorial took place last night, April 26, 2015, to honor the late "Mama Irene" Guadagno, the mother of Insomniac Events founder Pasquale Rotella. The founder of the renowned EDM brand - known for Electric Daisy Carnival among many other festivals and events - posted a heartfelt message to his Facebook on April 19 to announce the passing of his mother, Irene Guadagno.
The memorial was held at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, California, and it appears there were some special guests and performances. Among them was a surprise sunset by Kaskade. It was a celebration in true "Mama Irene" style, as Rottella said, with "family, friends, music, dancing, good food, and lots of laughter."
Kaskade was one of many members of the electronic dance community to celebrate Mama Irene this past week. On April 24, Rotella posted a video capturing an incredibly powerful and tear-jerking moment as he receives a special gift in the form of a 30-foot mural painting of his mother from a group of close friends and artists.
It's times like these we are reminded of the true power of music to create communities where peace, love, unity and respect reign above all.
