As EDM festivals evolve into full-scale subcultures of their own, the dance music community is becoming a lifestyle. Fashion, for example, plays a major role in the electronic music festival atmosphere. As the 2015 festival season quickly approaches, EDM.com is proud to present the ninth episode of our Festival Fashion Pro Tips series. Staff writer Emily Hall will be curating a weekly catalog of festival fashions geared towards the avid dance music festival attendee. Fashioning any style kimono is a major summer trend as they are lightweight, extremely versatile, and a statement making piece to any ensemble. Although the kimono originated with the Japanese, this fashion trend has found its way into a plethora of styles ranging from contemporary hippie to grunge to far out and groovy. Slipping on a kimono is a perfect edition to any festival outfit because it gives you a completed look without trying too hard to achieve a solid festival creation. Choosing to add a kimono to any crop top/high-waisted shorts combo fulfills a sense of completion and originality to any festival-goers outfit and attitude. Striding across festival grounds in a draping kimono gives anyone a rad free-flowing look through simple means. Pairing a kimono with a one piece, platforms, large tee, bathing suit, anything at all will push your fashion horizons farther than ever before.
2) Isis & Fairy Wings

Modern Isis Wings designs are a reflection of an old 1800s trend amongst visual performance artists, with it’s name deriving from an ancient Egyptian goddess Isis. Although festival crowns have a social stigma of being a "basic" component to festival attire as a whole, these easy to make crowns exert Earthy and natural vibes, a perfect tone for any music festival out there. While most of these accessories are crafted using faux flowers, some adventurous souls have taken the trend to an entirely new level by fabricating what is denoted as a “crystal crown.” These crystals are wrapped into tiara-form via bounding wire, although these opulent crowns can also soar past $500.
