Jack U Replaces Sam Smith On Major U.S. Festival Lineup

Below every festival lineup, you will find a phrase to the effect of "lineup subject to change." Artists cancel appearances for a myriad of reasons, but sometimes these cancellations can result in last-minute sets from acts not originally scheduled to perform. A few days before its 2015 event on May 15-17, Alabama music festival Hangout Music Festival had to replace headliner Sam Smith after he canceled due to an impending vocal chord surgery.

In his place, festival organizers slotted an EDM headliner that did not appear on the initial lineup: the Skrillex and Diplo group Jack Ü. The duo will close out the festival's Boom Boom Tent on Friday night. Jack Ü's appearance stems from Skrillex and Diplo's separately-billed appearances at Hangout, with a Skrillex solo set and a set from Diplo's reggae/EDM group Major Lazer both scheduled to perform on Saturday.
