Steve Aoki Dishes On New Documentary And Releases His Epic Tomorrowland Brasil Set
Steve Aoki is no stranger to the big stage, but his closing set at Tomorrowland Brasil was a special one. For the first Tomorrowland in South America, Aoki threw down an energy-filled set full of new “Neon Future” tracks.
His weekend continued with a Saturday evening performance at his Dim Mak stage where he featured jams from artists like Blasterjaxx, Cookers, New World Sound, and more. Listen to Aoki's Dim Mak stage set below for a taste of what went down:
Along with making international festival appearances, Aoki is working on a biographical documentary called “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.” Footage for the documentary was taken during the creation of Aoki’s two part Neon Future album which features a myriad of artists from the likes of Linkin Park, Snoop Lion, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, and more. The title is a hat-tip to Aoki's rigorous schedule of playing over 300 performances a year all across the world while also hinting to his personal struggle in trying to gain his father Rocky Aoki's approval prior to his death in 2008.
Relativity Media has acquired distribution rights to the documentary. Stay tuned for the official release of the documentary which will likely give fans greater insight on the man behind the cake.
