Top 5 Must-See Summer Parties of 2015

It’s that time of year! The sun is shining, the clothes are less modest, and the music is undoubtedly louder. PRAISE JEBUS, summer has finally arrived. And while your friends are planning all of their obnoxiously elaborate festival outfits, you might be fretting. After all, the idea of not showering for four days should be daunting to anyone. You’re not going to be left in the dark though. This is where the epic day party comes in, especially for those of us who prefer not to embark on three day, booze-fueled romps, or the more likely scenario, we have to work (ugh). Lucky for you, there’s plenty of awesome day getaways that take some of the guesswork and commitment out of the mix. Here’s our list of the top five parties to hit if the festival scene just don’t fit your hella demanding schedule.

Mad Decent Block Party (Various Dates, Various Cities)

These one-day EDM smorgasborgs are a trap, dubstep, and moombahton lover's dream. Spend a Saturday getting weird with artists like Major Lazer, Flosstradamus, Knife Party, Dillon Francis, and Zeds Dead. If you want a day of heavy hitters without the weekend long commitment, this is your place to express yourself. Different lineups will take the stage in major cities like Austin, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York and Philly (among others), which means there’s definitely an option around your corner. If you can’t sacrifice the time or money for a full-blown festival, this is the Mad Decent alternative. Learn more and BUY TICKETS HERE.

Corona’s Electric Beach (Various Dates, Various Cities)

For those who dig class with a touch of badass, Corona's Electric Beach series is sure to deliver on both fronts. Avicii will play at Encore Beach Club in the Wynn Las Vegas on May 16th, with other mega artists like Skrillex scheduled to make appearances later this summer. If pool parties MC’ed by some of the world’s hottest DJ’s sounds like your cup of mojito, then you’ve found a match in Electric Beach, which is also scheduled to have party dates in Chicago, The Hamptons, Los Angeles, Miami and New York City. Even better yet, many of these events are FREE with RSVP. Learn more and GET TICKETS HERE.

Dirtybird BBQ (Various Dates, Various Cities)

Do you like house music? Do you like hot dogs? Do you like to go cray in the presence of both house music and hot dogs? If you answered yes, then you may find yourself in hamburger heaven at the annual Dirtybird BBQ. Everyone's favorite EDM party guys, The Dirtybird Players, are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their label with a backyard party that’s sure to crush. Get ready to slam beers and various grilled meats with the likes of Claude Von Stroke, Justin Martin, and all the other dirtybirdies in Brooklyn, Chicago, Denver, Portland, Seattle and another city TBD. Electric Adventure (August 1-2, 2015, Atlantic City Boardwalk, NJ)

Okay, so technically this one might count as a festival because of its multi-day status, but if you spend more than two days in Atlantic City you might as well consider yourself lost to the dark side forever. This year's two-day event (it was previously a one-day event held at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey) brings some of EDM’s hottest names to the East Coast's city of sin. Get ready to go all in beachside with headliners Pretty Lights, Dillon Francis and G-Easy during the first weekend of August. Tickets are surprisingly affordable so you’ll still have money to throw at the city’s loosest slots (or so the billboards tell me). Learn more and BUY TICKETS HERE.

Full Moon Fest (August 1st, 2015, Governors Island, NYC)

Created as an homage to Thailand’s monthly full moon parties, this one day music event is one of New York City's best kept secrets. Located just a short ferry ride away on the beautiful Governors Island, the annual Full Moon Fest brings the very best in house, disco and electro-pop to the outskirts of bustling Manhattan. Last year's lineup featured acts like Claptone, JDH & Dave P, Keisza, The Knocks, Le Youth and Penguin Prison. Be sure to accessorize your sun dresses - Full Moon Fest attracts a chic European crowd by offering top notch tunes, gourmet food and specialty cocktails. Plus it takes place at one of the city's most beautiful and secluded beach clubs. Learn more and BUY TICKETS HERE.
