L'Tric Presents: A Brief History of House Music Hour-Long Mix
Grammy nominated producer Ivan Gough and Andy Jaimes have teamed up to school house fans on the history of the genre. Their duo project, L'Tric, is a celebration of the house music that enticed them to pursue producing the genre in the first place. Their debut single "This Feeling" has already topped Beatport charts and has been remixed by the likes of Kryder and Purple Disco Machine. Their new mixtape, L'Tric Presents: A Brief History of House Music, pays tribute to all of the greats from Frankie Knuckles to Daft Punk to Bizarre Inc. and many more.
Gough and Jaimes haven't just produced a dance-ready album, they've written a full blown seminar. This delightfully tight 60-minute mega-mix includes exactly 100 tunes spanning a nearly 50-year history of the House music genre. Despite the varied content, and the rapid succession of tracks, the listening process is surprisingly smooth. The upbeat mixtape effectively captures more than four decades of hits in a bite-size session that deserves to be longer. The only negative is the time limit - just when some tracks reach their climax, it's already time to move on to the next pulsing club hit. Whether you're a disco fan or a 90s baby, you'll find comfort and joy in this one-hour throwback. Thank goodness it's just part one of an entire series.
