Zedd Talks Unfinished Collaborations With Selena Gomez, Shares Superfan Stories
In a recent interview with Billboard, "Break Free" producer Zedd talks about his collaboration with Selena Gomez on the first single from his upcoming album True Colors, due May 18.
"'I Want You To Know' was the first one -- we recorded a couple more songs that we haven't finished yet," says Zedd, hinting at the possibility of other collaborations with the pop singer to be released in the future. You can listen to the single below...
In a separate interview with TIME magazine, Zedd opens up about the dedication of his fan base. In promotion of True Colors, the EDM wunderkind has been hosting a unique scavenger hunt styled marketing campaign, unveiling a new song in a different city to 50 lucky fans.
“There’s this kid Marcel, he’s the craziest one—he bought a ticket to every single city! He made it to six out of seven events! He traveled across the entire country to hear the songs first and experience that,” says Zedd.
Zedd goes on to explain that he’s been able to foster such a dedicated fan base through always putting the fans first, but mentions that this behavior from fans can be worrisome at times: “It’s not creepy, but it’s scary because you feel responsible for him if doesn’t make it." Zedd has been worried Marcel would spend all that money to get to cities and not end up in the first 50 to complete the scavenger hunt.
