Hey Mama’ producer David Guetta has opened up in a recent interview with The Associated Press that Latin America is the most enthusiastic supporter of dance music worldwide. The French DJ’s popularity has a global reach that has taken him on tours around the world, but in his experience, the popularity of dance music isn’t as big in the US as it is in Latin countries. “Latin America has always support dance music much more than the United States, where they are more with hip hop or rock,” says Guetta. He also goes on to say that he has seen the same phenomenon in his home country of France, and has spent a lot of time in the Spanish party island of Ibiza.

In the same interview, Guetta talks about how his songs create memories for people. “I love that people have memories with my music, it’s something that is completely magical for me to know people remembers places and moments in their lives and every time they remember that time or place, they think of my music.”
