Watch Zedd Perform An EDM-Country Mashup With Lady Antebellum [VIDEO]

Ever wonder what would happen if you crossed a country show with a rave? The 2015 CMT Awards brought together Zedd and Lady Antebellum for a special mashup performance that became the most talked about moment of the show. The Grammy-award winning country trio and the True Colors producer performed two of their recent hits in what became the first live EDM-country mashup.

The country trio strolled onto the stage, opening the set with “Long Stretch” against an LED screen backdrop. The beat drops, and Zedd is called to the stage as they transition into “Beautiful Now” with a stuttering, pitch-rising sample of the guitar riff carried over from the first number as Lady Antebellum takes over on vocals.

Check out a clip of the performance below...

At the release party for his sophomore album, Zedd talked about his desire to break down musical barriers and explore new genres, and he’s certainly accomplished that with this performance, which is a first for the EDM world. As EDM's popularity increases and finds greater acceptance in mainstream music, the possibilities for cross-overs will only increase.

See what Lady Antebellum had to say about rehearsing and collaborating with Zedd in the interview below...
