Skrillex Drops New Mix, Talks Dating & Deadmau5's Attitude [VIDEO]
While fans anxiously await Skrillex's exclusive single for Adult Swim, which was scheduled to drop yesterday but has presumably been pushed back, this new view/radio interview with the OWSLA founder will hopefully tide fans over. This morning, Skrillex dropped in at the CBS studio in New York to appear on 92.3 AMP Radio's Shoboy in the Morning, during which he premiered a new edit exclusively for the show.
Sonny debuted a new, custom mix of his track "To Ü" featuring AlunaGeorge from the debut album for Jack Ü, his project with Diplo.
"I love this record... the lyrics are so... they hit you in that kind of melancholy, sad, happy... ya know, it's about leaving, it's hard to leave and it's harder being left, that's what it's about. It's got that melody and the drop to me is so futuristic, it doesn't sound like anything else..."
But that's not all Sonny shared... the dubstep-turned-future-trap megastar talked about everything from his dating life to deadmau5's bad attitude to the special Brooklyn stop of the Mad Decent Tour this past weekend that featured surprise guests Kiesza, OG Maco, Vic Mensa, CL and Silentó.
With a new school year on the horizon, the discussion even shifts to bullying as Skrillex shares insight based on his own personal experience. Oh, and it wouldn't be a proper interview without a little Bieber talk...
Unfortunately, the interview cuts off directly before they drop the new mix, and we're still on the hunt for a rip, but the station will reportedly be restreaming the interview and premiere of the new edit tomorrow. Tune in to the station here for more info.
