Jack U Plays Their Best Set Of 2015 With Surprise Guests [VIDEO]
Diplo's label brought their multi-city festival Mad Decent Block Party to Brooklyn, New York over the weekend, taking along a host of the hottest performers in EDM right now. Diplo's collaborative project with Skrillex, Jack Ü, was among the highlights of the weekend, closing out the Block Party with a bang. The duo surprised fans with a host of big name guest performers in what became their pinnacle performance of the year and has even been dubbed the "Best Jack U Show Ever."
Continuing their trend of taking top notch guest performers on stage with them during their live sets, Jack Ü treated their audience on Sunday by bringing Silentó out to perform "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)". They also brought out Kiesza to aid in the performance of their collaboration "Take Ü There", CL stopped by to perform "Dr. Pepper" and "Dirty Vibe" and Vic Mensa rapped his collaboration with Skrillex on "No Chill". Jack Ü played some of their biggest songs, including Major Lazer's "Lean On", Skrillex's "Bangarang" and "Revolution".
In an interview with Billboard, Diplo talked about his work with the six time Grammy winning producer as he praised Moore's musical skills.
"I just think that Sonny is the best sound designer there is right now. I just became a stronger songwriter to where he brings in the craziest sound design you can have. But I'm also in his world, too, so I understand how he can mix that stuff together. With the Jack Ü album, it's like we're trying to build songs. Strong songwriting but then we have to make something that sounds like punk rock, and it's still weird, crazy and exciting."
Diplo was feeling good about the Block Party's grand finale, confirming that the Jack Ü show was, in fact, a career highlight for the supergroup duo.
"Tonight is probably our best Jack Ü show ever. I want to say that right now."
