10 Mixes To Prepare You For Electric Zoo 2015
Electric Zoo: Transformed takes place from September 4th to 6th in 2015, and the lineup boasts a new and improved edition of the annual NYC gathering. With the best names in house, dubstep, trap, and other underground genres taking the stage, there's an overwhelming amount of artists to catch in the span of three days.
To properly prepare for the weekend ahead, we've collected 10 outstanding mixes by artists scheduled to perform this weekend, and each of them provide a standout reason to attend Electric Zoo: Transformed this year. Check out the mixes below:
1. Riggi & Piros
The New Jersey-based duo have built themselves a strong reputation for delivering top-tier originals, remixes, and other mixes over the last year, and for this reason they were selected to provide a mix for Electric Zoo's official "On The Road" mix series. Featuring tracks from the likes of Zedd, Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Alesso, and more, this mix will surely have you jumping in your seat.
2. Adventure Club
This renowned Canadian act took it upon themselves to create their own version of "The Road To E-Zoo" in their Superheroes Anonymous series, and as expected, it fails to disappoint. Taking a more bass-heavy approach to their track selection, this mix fits the tastes of even the most modest of EMD listeners, featuring remixes of hip-hop and pop acts such as Fetty Wap, Beyonce, Post Malone, along with a wide range of established and up-and=coming electronic artists.
In addition to their "On The Road" mix series, Electric Zoo has also been enlisting the best in EDM to provide mixes for their Sirius radio show, and these artists come from an even wider pool of sound. Destructo was the first artist to deliver a well-curated mix for the radio show, and his signature G-house style shines throughout the entire mix, sprinkling bits of breaks, rap, and trap into the mix as he goes along.
The "Fault In Our Stars" actor-turned-DJ has had a stellar (pun intended) career thus far, so he was also a no-brainer to be included in Electric Zoo's radio series. Molding together vibrant house melodies with a party-driven sense of urgency, Ansolo's mix serves as a sweet appetizer to the emotionally-bound chaos set to take place at Randall's Island this year.
5. Oliver Heldens
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year, you've undoubtedly witnessed this young Dutch prodigy's hastened rise to success in EDM. His defining "future house" style has pioneered a new wave of sound within the current generation of sound, and his ability to tie in elements of progressive house, trance, and other genres truly makes his performances a one-of-a-k
6. The Martinez Brothers
Hailing from NYC themselves, The Martinez Brothers will be returning home to "bring down the house" so to speak, delivering an unparalleled and necessary selection of techno, house, and minimal productions not generally seen on the mainstage. Having released their debut album this year along with launching a new record label with Seth Troxler, the boys have been working hard in and out of the studio, and it's safe to say that their performance at E-Zoo will not be one to miss.
7. Zeds Dead
Little introduction is needed for this dynamic pair, as their latest BBC Radio 1 Diplo& Friends Mix showcased everything we could've expected from the established bass-heavy act. Their sets continuously raise the bar for themselves and their peers, and thanks to their genre-less capacity for delivering sounds both mainstream and underground, each performance revitalizes our passion for dancing more and more each time.
Yet another artist who needs no further introduction, the young-yet-veteran DJ and producer 3LAU has been on a tear as of late. He prepares fans for his performance at Electric Zoo this weekend with a new installment of his 3LAU HAUS mix series titled "Back to School", and considering how Electric Zoo might be the last hoorah for many high school and college students this season, the jam-packed mix of high energy progressive and electro drops and transitions couldn't be more fitting.
9. Don Diablo
He's remixed Madonna, Blonde, 2 Chainz, and has released an inspiring collection of originals and collaborations with the likes of Tiesto and others. In addition to this, he's consistently been touring, performing at festivals all over the world such as Tomorrowland, Sunrise, Baloton, and more. To get fans hyped for his upcoming performance at Electric Zoo, Don Diablo took to his brainchild label Hexagon to deliver the 30th episode of his radio series, and it is an hour-long head-rocking journey through EDM at its finest.
10. Amine Edge & Dance
For a duo that is on tour for the majority of the year, it's amazing to see how much they're still able to accomplish in their careers as producers and as label owners. Their renowned label CUFF has redefined house music today, standing at the forefront of all things "G" related. Their routine performances throughout Europe demonstrate their top-class track selection and wide-range of style in their performances, and their latest mix from Tomorrowland proves exactly why they should be on your bucketlist for Electric Zoo this year.
