Avicii & His Team Announce The Postponing Of All 2015 Performances
Citing an overload of professional commitments, Swedish EDM sensation Avicii has postponed all of his remaining scheduled performances for the year. Representatives of the producer told Billboard that finishing his upcoming sophomore album Stories, directing two music videos off the album and releasing "Pure Grinding" and "For A Better Day" have left Avicii overworked.
The performances being postponed include his Las Vegas gigs at XS and Encore Beach Club and appearances at Shanghai's Storm Festival, Japan's Fuji-Ku Conifer Forest and Maishima Special Stage. Representatives said these dates will become part of a "larger tour initiative" next year and that in the meantime the producer will take "a well deserved break."
Here is the official statement the producer released regarding the news to postpone all upcoming shows this year.
“I look forward to keep being innovative with my team in leading a bigger change than just with my music. In moving my tour promotional responsibilities to next year, I have a great opportunity to focus on myself and spend time trying to grow up in a way I never got the chance to – normal, or as normal as it could get. My team, label and family have encouraged me to do that and I realize not many in my position get that opportunity. ”
Around this time last year, Avicii canceled all scheduled performances due to health issues, so fans should be encouraged that Avicii is taking care of himself so he can return next year revitalized and ready to embark on an even bigger tour.
