Deadmau5 Talks Streaming & The Problems With Today's Artists & Video Games
This weekend, deadmau5 launched his new subscription-based site featuring continuous, curated live content. He also attended the annual TwitchCon at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA this weekend, during which he took out some time for an interview with TechCrunch.
Joel Zimmerman's conversation with TechCrunch reporter Josh Constine turned out to be an interesting discussion of streaming, gaming and the music industry from their problems to their recent developments and trends.
When speaking of music streaming, he makes the argument that artists like Taylor Swift need to redirect their attention from the streaming platforms to instead making a better deal with their label that is still profiting.
When the conversation shifts to gaming, Zimmerman makes the point that video games today are just plain difficult.
"Try to make the games not so god damn fucking hard. You gotta' dumb it down just a little bit..."
Zimmerman has fun with the interview, going back and forth between being goofy and being more serious as he explains his opinions on the current landscapes of these tech industries and how they are changing and transitioning and why.
