FOX Teams Up with Veteran Producer to Create Electronic Music Awards
FOX may have lost Trump for its next GOP debate, but it gained the attention of the dance music community today as it announced the broadcasting of the first-ever Electronic Music Awards and Foundation (EMAF) on April 23, 2016. To celebrate the best in electronic music, the broadcasting company has teamed up with Los Angeles-based production company TV4 Entertainment and English producer/DJ and dance music pioneer Paul Oakenfold.
"I’m thrilled to be a part of an awards show that finally both recognizes and celebrates, on a primetime platform, one of the biggest music genres in the world today," said Oakenfold, executive producer of EMAF.
The inaugural event will feature red carpet coverage, awards presentations, interviews and soon-to-be-announced performances and appearances by electronic music's leading artists, creatives, executives and visionaries. Viewers can expect the event to honor "early trailblazers and legends of electronic music, as well as the top-trending acts of today."
The EMAF show is executive-produced by Paul Oakenfold, TV4 Entertainment CEO Jon Cody and Paul Duddridge, head of Entertainment Productions at TV4 and former UK comedy agent and producer. The event will be filmed on April 14th at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles and will air on Saturday, April 23rd, at 8:00pm ET on FOX.
"It’s an honor and a privilege to bring the greatest music in the world to the greatest TV network in the world. We’re proud to work with the EMAF to raise money and awareness for good causes, while recognizing the work of the artists in the world’s biggest music genre," said Duddridge.
