See Who Took Home Purple Trophies at the 2016 MTV EMAs [VIDEO]
The 2016 MTV European Music Awards took place this past weekend in Rotterdam. Hosted by Bebe Rexha, the big night featured performances from The Weeknd, Afrojack, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, OneRepublic, Kings of Leon, Green Day, DNCE and Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha and more.
MTV celebrated and honored late iconic pop star Prince with purple awards at this year's ceremony.
Martin Garrix took home two of the purple trophies for Best World Stage for the 2015 Isle of MTV, Malta and Best Electronic. The young producer, who was also recently named the #1 DJ in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll, was up against Afrojack, Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Major Lazer.
Calvin Harris was also nominated for Best Male, though Shawn Mendes took home the award. The Weeknd and Daft Punk walked away with Best Video for their collaborative hit single "Starboy." See the full list of winners at mtvema.com.
