Erick Morillo Wraps Up 2016 With Dancefloor Banger 'The Edge' [LISTEN]
Erick Morillo, the legendary 45-year old producer and record label owner, has just released his newest single “The Edge” to wrap up 2016.
The new track was released under his personally owned and created record label called Subliminal Records which is home to artists like Harry "Choo Choo" Romero and Junolarc. “The Edge” is the perfect club track to get everyone in the building on their feet and moving to the funky deep house beats. This track has a consistently fast pace made with deep synths and pulsing bass, creating the perfect beat to take to the dance floor. The lyrics, “All I wanna do is dance in the scene, from House, to Techno, and in between” keep the party mood consistent throughout every beat.
Erick Morillo is a very familiar face to the world of dance music, with his interest in DJing starting when he was only 11-years old. At such a young age, he was already beginning to DJ weddings and events for his family and friends. Going into college, Morillo started DJing at local clubs and making connections in the music scene of New York City, his first collaboration being with Latin reggae star, El General. These two friends mixed their reggae and house music styles together to create his first two singles, “Muevelo” and the platinum hit, “Anasthasia”.
After a few more hits under his belt, Morillo released “I Like to Move It” which became an internationally recognized dance music anthem. This song was even featured in the extremely popular film, Madagascar, making it a recognizable track even to this day, for people of all ages. Now, Morillo is focusing on the revival of his record label, Subliminal Records, by creating fresh material for the upcoming year. He has already collaborated with successful artist, Angel Taylor on a track titled “Oooh”, and producers Eli & Fur on “Thunder & Lightning” and “This Is How We Do It”. This dance music star kick-started his success by closing out Space in Ibiza alongside Carl Cox, Anja Schneider, Tale Of Us, and more. There is much more to come from this dedicated and timelessly classic musician in 2017.
