Laidback Luke Makes Big Announcement As He Shares 2017 Plans [WATCH]

Laidback Luke released a YouTube video yesterday on his vlog channel sharing some exciting news for the upcoming year.

The video offers an update on the busy life of the family man and loving father, kung fu athlete, and internationally famous DJ and producer as well as a personal reflection on the past year.

Luke also shares his 2016 highlights both the good and the bad, from the Brangelina breakup to the release of his favorite movie, Deadpool. He then takes vlog viewers backstage to his shows in both Costa Mesa and Sunnyvale.

The most exciting news from the video came in the last few seconds. Laidback Luke announces that he will be releasing a brand new album in 2017. Not many details are given in the video except that he is feeling very excited and inspired for this new creation.

Since his start in EDM, dating all the way back to 1996 with the release of his first remix, Green Velvet – The Stalker (Laidback Luke Remix), LUke has found inspiration in the energy often found on dance floors.

The Dutch DJ has evolved into an internationally recognized figure in dance music over the years with the release of studio albums Electronic Satisfaction (2002) and Focus (2015), not to mention plenty of extended playlists, compilation albums and mix albums. Of course, he's also been celebrated over the years for his countless remixes, singles, bootlegs, and collabs with some of the world’s most renowned DJs and producers such as Diplo, Hardwell, David Guetta, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

With his last album featuring a total of 16 dance tracks, we can only hope to see as many or more on the upcoming album. He once said that some of his biggest inspirations include MK, Todd Terry, DJ Pierre and Carl Craig, so there is a chance we can look forward to both electro and progressive house music from the next LP.

If we know anything, it's that Laidback Luke's music is everything but "laid back." So, all we can do now is sit back, enjoy the New Year with some of his older tracks, and wait for more information on the release of this new album.

What kind of music do you hope to see from Laidback Luke in 2017?
