We're sad to report that TomorrowWorld will not take place this year. The festival made the official announcement a little over an hour ago, and fans are already expressing their disappointment.

Last year's TomorrowWorld festival experienced severe backlash after bad weather led to the cancellation of the third day of the event to ticket-holders who were not already on site. Some attendees were also stranded without transportation the night before, when roads were closed due to heavy rainfall that had made them so muddy they were unsafe to drive.

Five months later, SFX filed for bankruptcy after a rocky year during which founder and chief executive Robert F.X. Sillerman failed to take the company private and stocks plummeted by more than 95 percent.

Some sources are reporting that this may not be goodbye for good, as the festival is allegedly considering the possibility of returning in 2017.

"For 2017, we looked at all the possible scenarios. We cannot guarantee with the current situtation that we can put on an event at our level and our vales."
