Avicii's Documentary Film Stories Acquired by BBC Worldwide

A few days before Avicii announced his retirement from touring, BBC announced that they had acquired the rights to his documentary, Stories.

The documentary film will follow the path of his career from the release of his first album True in 2013, up until the release of his second album Stories in 2015.

From the BBC's press release:

The eagerly-awaited music documentary, formed by Avicii’ s experiences since the release of his debut album True in 2013, traces the global superstar’s phenomenal story, from his early days posting tracks online through to his global chart-topping success. Holding nothing back, Stories shows Avicii’s career in varying lights, from playing in front of 80,000 fans in his hometown in Stockholm, to having an illness that necessitated the cancellation of a year’s worth of tour dates.

Executive Producer Daniel Zackrisson says "The very unique footage will give an extraordinary look into Tim’s world as the artist Avicii. The very talented director, Levan, is spending an enormously amount of time with Tim, and the access to the – normally - so anonymous artist is giving a rare insight in the life of a super star.’’

Stories will be released sometime in 2016.
