Festival Organizer Turns Himself In After 9 Days As a Fugitive
After 5 people died at Time Warp Argentina in Bueno Aires, the head of the production company behind the festival spent over a week on the run from authorities.
Adrián Conci, head of Dell Producciones which organized Time Warp Argentina, spent 9 days as a fugitive after authorities ordered his detention. According to the Buenos Aires Herald, witnesses say he appeared on the steps of the Comodor Py courthouse, holding a rosary in his hands and crying. Other members of his company were arrested shortly after the judge's ruling, including lawyer Maximilliano Avila, and Carlos Maria Garat who was "responsible for the evacuation plan" for the festival.
5 partygoers died during Time Warp's first night, and several more were hospitalized in critical condition. Fortunately one of those in critical condition has been sent home and is receiving outpatient care, but three more are still in critical (though stable) condition.
Buenos Aires has announced a temporary ban on new permits issued for electronic music events in the wake of the Time Warp tragedies.
