Krewella Shows Off New Sound, Shares Another Emotional Letter [VIDEO]

We gotta hand it to the Yousaf sisters. They are leaving it all out there with this new material, bearing all and wearing their hearts on their sleeves.

To announce their new EP Ammunition (due out May 20th) and nationwide tour they decided to do something a little different. Reflecting on their lives and careers with all of its intense peaks and valleys, Yasmine and Jahan each presented personal, heartfelt visual letters. Touching on the most difficult, confusing and scary of times, they got to the heart of whether the inevitable pain, sacrifices and suffering that come with chasing their dreams is really worth it in the end...

Just before these announcements came the lead single from the EP "Beggars," their first original release in over a year. Collaborating with bass duo DISKORD, "Beggars" combines the grunge of punk rock with the grit of dubstep and a little hardcore smashed with infectious melodies for the ultimate anthem to soundtrack this next Krewella chapter.

And now, we have the second single and with it, a new style and sound from the sisters. Premiered on BPM’s new music segment with Ben Harvey on SiriusXM, "Broken Record" is an emotive track with nostalgic alt-rock vibes, powerful angst-filled vocals and a melancholic tinge that transforms into a contagious beat. It all works together to show a different side of Krewella. Stream the new single below, tell us what you think and grab a copy on iTunes here if you dig.

To support the new EP, Yasmine and Jahan will set out on a 16-stop tour they are calling "The Sweatbox Tour," where they will go back to smaller, more intimate clubs to bear it all in real life and get even more up close and personal with their core fans. Because at the end of the day, it's all about the fans, and it seems like that's what this EP and tour is all about. Find tour dates and info below.

Tickets for The Sweatbox will be available through a ticket request system and each ticket will include a copy of the Ammunition EP. Enter the ticket system between now and May 18th at http://krewella.com/sweatbox/. Fans accepted into the system will be notified via email on May 19th.
