Music Legend Aphex Twin Lets 12-Year-Old Direct First Video in 17 Years

Richard D. James, better known by music fans as Aphex Twin, just released his first music video in 17 years... and it was directed by a 12-year-old. The Grammy-winning, Irish-born Brit famous for his pioneering works in the realms of acid and techno tapped a preteen to create his first official music video in almost two decades.

The new video is for his 8-minute single "CIRKLON3 [ Колхозная mix ]" from his upcoming EP Cheetah, set to drop on July 8th.

And the budding director who was given the opportunity of a lifetime? ... a 12-year-old Irish boy by the name of Ryan Wyer. Though most of his YouTube videos barely break 100 views, his gaming channel features a few homemade Aphex videos that somehow grabbed the attention of James himself.
