Meet the EDM Producer & Great Grandson of the Great Pablo Picasso

French producer Florian Picasso was born in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in 1990 and now lives between Cannes, France and Geneva, Switzerland. He's the great grandson of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), the Spanish painter, sculptor, ceramicist, poet and arguably the single most influential artist of the 20th century.

When Florian reflects on his life, however, he thinks less about his preeminent bloodline and more about the second chance he received from his mother. Marina Picasso adopted Florian from a Vietnamese orphanage when he was 3 months old.

"I've been adopted at 3 months old from vietnam. My mother is Marina Picasso, she saved me and gave me a second chance. When I was back in the orphanage it was a special moment to me. Sitting in that exact same room where I was as a newborn but this time holding a child was a unique experience. Reminding me not to take life for granted, i could have been one of these kids with no family and a though life. But instead I'm doing what I love and I owe my success to them, I can't cry over the fact that I was abandoned It wouldn't be fair. And today I stand tall, fighting for my ideas and beliefs because they aren't privileged like you and me."

And yet, EDM.com had the chance to ask Florian a few questions about his rather extraordinary lineage...
