From 1 April, 2011 to 31 March, 2016, reported rapes in London clubs, bars, and nightclubs saw a huge spike.

How much so? 136% percent. This according to a report published by Broadly. Although the Metropolitan Police describe the number as the slightly lower 119%, it nevertheless is alarming. In 2016 alone, there have been 52 cases filed in London, which is double that over the same period 5 years ago. Also, in terms of actions described as “Sexual offenses” the number stands at 358 between 2015-1016.

On the flip side, arrests for rape have only risen 90% (with 32% ultimately being charged 1 year after the incident in question, yielding conviction rates around 5.7%), while that number drops to 61% for sexual offenses. So, long story short, very few offenders will ever see the inside of a courthouse LET ALONE prison.
