The Chainsmokers' Dream Collab and Top 10 Favorite Tracks
The Chainsmokers are on everyone's tongue right now thanks to their number one hit single "Closer" with Halsey and their recent MTV Video Music Awards debut. Right before taking the stage at the VMAs, The Chainsmokers shared in a red carpet interview with Billboard who they'd love to collaborate with right now.
The Chainsmokers member Alex Pall immediately chimed in and painted a scenario that ended in a studio session with Future after getting "turnt" with the Atlanta rapper following the VMAs. Pall wants "street cred," he jokingly said.
Having already earned street cred in the pop world, The Chainsmokers want to reach more than just EDM audiences and that's likely attribtued to their diverse personal music tastes.
The story behind "Closer" revealed The Chainsmokers' inspirations which are often pulled from outside EDM. The hit song references Blink 182 and was also said to be influenced by the punk pop band Taking Back Sunday.
Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall's tastes were further revealed in a recent interview with Digital Spy, when the duo shared their top 10 favorite tracks. The 10 tunes Pall and Taggart are feeling the most right now are spread nicely across the music spectrum.
