Aphex Twin Announces First U.S. Gig in 8 years
Aphex Twin has long been considered one of the most experimental and mysterious artists in music.
To continue his reputation for do the unexpected, Aphex Twin announced his first U.S. performance in 8 years in a very subtle way.
The tweet refers to Day For Night, a 2-day event taking place in Houston, Texas December 17-18.
The festival will be dropping its official line-up and will begin ticket sales on September 14th. Last year's line-up included performances from Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Nicolas Jaar, Com Truise, and many more.
Aphex Twin last performed in the United States when he played Coachella in 2008. Pitchfork reports that a rep close to Aphex Twin says that there are no other plans for further performances.
