Tomorrowland Gets the Green Light for 2 Weekends in 2017
Things are getting even bigger in Belgium as Tomorrowland extends to two weekends in 2017.
The annual festival which attracts thousands of fans from all over the world has decided to prolong the magic by offering a second opportunity to attend.Tomorrowland also offered 2 weekends for its 10-year anniversary which occurred in 2014 in Boom, Belgium.
Tomorrowland will now occur across two weekends in 2017, July 21st-23rd and July 28th-30th, respectively.
The news was first reported by Dutch media source Gazete van Antwerpen who said that the extension comes due to the difficulty for people to obtain tickets because of the festival's extremely high demand:
“The purpose of this [hosting the festival in 2 weekends] is to meet the huge demand for tickets from international and local fans. Meanwhile, with the blessing of the municipalities of Boom & Rumst, we can go ahead and start preparing for 2 weekends as of next summer.”
Tomorrowland will have to work with government officials from De Schorre province, who have set strict rules for the number of days that outdoor events may occur in the area. Tomorrowland will fulfill 6 of the 17 days that are allotted for outdoor events.
