Las Vegas Names January 14 "Tiësto Day" In Honor Of The Iconic DJ's Birthday
Tiësto celebrated his 48th birthday over the weekend and the city of Las Vegas helped the iconic DJ get the party going in style. Due to the tremendous influence he's had on Sin City's nightlife, the producer's birthday has now officially been named "Tiësto Day."
On January 14, County Commissioner Steve Sisolak awarded the Dutch music maker with a key to the famous Las Vegas Strip at MGM Grand before declaring his birthday as "Tiësto Day." The key symbolizes the huge impact Tiësto's career has had on Las Vegas' economy from years of performing on the Strip, and Sisolak touched on the musician's cultural contributions as he presented him with the key.
“I am thrilled to present Tiësto with the Key to the Las Vegas Strip. Bringing his innovative talent to the Strip in conjunction with Hakkasan Group, Tiësto has changed the face of the DJ world. Through his dedication and passion for his work, Tiësto continues to be an inspiration, not only to other DJ artists, but to all Las Vegas performers.”
As if that weren't enough, Tiësto offered up a gift to his fans over the weekend with the release of his latest single "On My Way." The new tune sees the producer teaming up with Bright Sparks on a pop friendly outing, driven by a lively tropical backdrop, kinetic rhythms and catchy vocals.
With a key to the strip and a whole day to his name, it's safe to say that Tiësto's 48th birthday bash was one for the ages.
