Jaenga Calls Out Money-Hungry Labels with New Single [WATCH]
NYC-native producer Jaenga is hoping to shake things up not only with his music but with a recent video that mocks the money-chasers in the dance music industry.
The pugnacious video accompanies a new single entitled "Get Them Movin," featuring hip hop artist Born I Music. The new tune from Jaenga is the latest in a string of releases that began two years ago.
Instead of begging big wigs to put him in front of crowds, however, this self-starter found his own way to bring his music to the masses. Jaenga - real name Pat McDevitt - bought a school bus, tricked it out with an impressive sound system and decks and took it all over the country, hitting festivals and throwing underground warehouse parties along the way.
"By the second day of Camp Bisco, I had artists that I looked up to tweeting me if they could come play the bus. I had Griz’ manager call me Friday morning asking if Griz could come play a set at 3:00am that night! (Which I of course agreed to)," McDevitt told NYC EDM.
With talents that go far beyond the studio and the school bus, McDevitt already has a career as a successful director, with a resume that includes producing videos for dance music behemoths like Ultra and popular labels like Monstercat.
