Above & Beyond Releases New Single "Balearic Balls"
Electronic music trio Above & Beyond has just released a new progressive trance song titled "Balearic Balls." Described by the group as "a dark detour into the mind of Above & Beyond," the latest single shows off their signature style but with an added edginess.
Lover of trance or not, "Balearic Balls" provides a euphoric beat for any dance music fan. The UK trio noted the new tune as their official return to more club-minded songwriting.
Consisting of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki, Above & Beyond has been releasing some of the most recognizable and monumental trance tracks for over 17 years now.
Originally formed in 2000 under the name Anjunabeats, the group then released music under aliases Free State and Dirt Devils. After getting some inspiration from a slogan used by a motivational trainer, it was decided that Above & Beyond was more fitting.
After the success of their remix to Chakra’s "Home," many established trance labels started to seek them out for remixes. By 2002, Above & Beyond was able to make their DJ Debut in Tokyo performing alongside Tiësto and Ferry Corsten. Soon after, their fan base exploded and led them to start making regular appearances at some of the largest and most popular music festivals in the world including Creamfields and Glastonbury.
Finally in 2004, Above & Beyond released their original single "No One On Earth" featuring Zoë Johnston, which was voted 2004 Tune of the Year by Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance.
Now known as veterans and founders of label imprints Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, the trio has racked up countless accolades over the years including those from Ibiza DJ Awards, the International Dance Music Awards and DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs and even a Grammy Award for best dance recording.
