The Greatest DJs Give Back: Dixon and Solomun Donate to Tulum Community
Two of the world's most respected and highly sought after DJs have joined forces to give back in the greatest way possible.
Dixon and Solomun, who both charted at #1 and #5 respectively in Resident Advisor's 2016 RA Poll were originally scheduled to perform a special b2b set in the picturesque jungle surroundings of Cenote Dos Osos in Tulum, Mexico last Monday. For this special performance, the two artists had waived their booking fees for a special charitable performance where proceeds would be donated to educational projects and schools in Tulum.
However, following the awful tragedy that occurred at the elrow party at Blue Parrot during the final day of The BPM Festival, the performance was canceled out of respect of those who had to experience the violent incident which resulted in the death of 5 people and caused serious injuries to 15 others.
However, making good on their promise to invest in the future of Tulum, Dixon and Solomun have chosen to partner with Tulum government to ensure that the children of Tulum will have access to education. With the help of these two selfless artists, the children of Tulum will see their kindergarten school's construction completed, as well as the foundation of a new primary school.
Tulum is a beach community located in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, less than 2 hours away from Cancun. As the home to ancient Mayan ruins, Tulum is a destination of that is a reflection of both the past, present, and future of Mexico.
