Now Kids can Rave too at the Nickelodeon Slimefest

You heard it right. This year at the annual Nickelodeon Slimefest, thousands of slime-covered kids will be dancing to some pretty familiar beats. The music festival was created to shake things up a bit, replacing the traditional Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards.

The show always takes place in late September at the Margaret Court Arena and is aired on the Nickelodeon TV channel within a few days after. From the looks of the video below, this is a full-on rave for these kids, complete with lots of visuals, a hyped DJ, and a massive dance floor.

In the past years, this concert has featured some familiar names in pop music such as Omi, Cody Simpson, and Havana Brown. Things have changed as one of the main headliners for the 2016 event is none other than the electronic music duo Mashd N Kutcher.

It’s like all of our adolescent selves got together and made one big EDM dream come true. I'd say this is one big win for the kids of this decade.

Mashd N Kutcher are not your average DJs. This self-made Australian DJ duo has mastered the art of the mashup. It was their clever mash-ups of popular songs, focusing mostly on EDM music, but also mixing in some twists that turned Mashd N Kutcher into a household name.

They have mashups of mega popular tracks like "Roses Roses Roses - Outkast vs Guns N Roses vs The Chainsmokers" and "Snake U (100%) - Duke Dumont vs Jauz & Marshmello vs DJ Snake." But they also like to keep fans on their feet, mixing in popular culture with mashups like the one titled "Harry Potter & The Chamber of Bangers." They like to describe their sound as old school vs. new school rolled into one, bringing a new life to nightclubs and stages around the world.

"The pair have grown from local DJs to one one of the most prominent electronic acts to emerge past Australian shores in recent times, voted Australia’s #1 DJ Duo (inthemix 2015) and making waves around the world through combining music, multi-media and live-electronic performances." (Lucky Ent)
