Bring in the Holiday Weekend with Mr. Saturday Night 003 [PLAYLIST]
The turkeys have been fried, the potatoes have been mashed, and all of the calories have been happily consumed. After a long day filled with food, family, and giving thanks, it's time to get back to business. Saturday night business, that is. A big night out is among us, and what better way to get it started than with our weekly Mr. Saturday Night playlist? Let's start the night off with a drink.
This week's featured drink is a an easy holiday sangria.
All you need is
- 1 bottle chilled dry white wine
- 1 bottle chilled mid-tier champagne
- 3 oz. Damiana liqueur (herbal liqueur with citrus and vanilla flavors)
- 20 whole cloves
- 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 2 freshly sliced pears
- 2 sliced and cored apples
If you're planning to host a house party while old friends visit from out of town, or just plan to kick off an evening in the city, this sangria is a great starter. Serving 8-10 people, sangria doesn't require any tricky methods. Just be sure to prep the night before so you can really enjoy the fruit flavors.
First, add the apples, pears, cloves and nutmeg to a large pitcher.
Next, add the Damiana liqueur and stir to ensure its well-mixed.
Then, add the wine and stir gently.
Once you're ready to serve, simply pour the champagne into the pitcher. Be sure to stir it slowly within the mixture. Pour in to an ice-filled wine glass and enjoy!
Now we're no mixologists, but we do know good music. Here's twenty tracks that we feel will perfectly accompany your Saturday night, wherever it may take you.
