Zedd, Tiesto, Kaskade and Many More Raise Whooping $1 Million for Las Vegas Victims Fund

October 1, a horrid day the residents of Las Vegas, will remember clear as day. The country was rocked by a barbaric shooting incident which left 58 killed and another 500 injured at a festival in Las Vegas.

While Vegas has tried their best and put their strong foot forward with #VegasStrong to come out stronger on the other side and move on, the shock and impact remain. While there are a lot of individuals and activists doing their bit for gun law reform in the wake of another unfortunate tragedy such as this in Texas, they aren't the only ones. The world of music and entertainment, the lifelines of Vegas, are doing their bit to create positive change as well.

On November 7, the OMNIA nightclub in Caesars Palace along with A-listers such as Tiesto, Zedd, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Lil Jon, NGHTMRE, Cash Cash, Party Favor and a bunch more hosted a night to raise funds for the Las Vegas Victims Fund. And with the help of all who attended and some amazing surprise guest performances, the artists and Hakkasan Group’s initiative managed to raise a whooping $1 million from the event !

Vegas being the hub of events and nightlife that it is, it wouldn’t be wrong to call it the entertainment capital of the world. No wonder the city holds a close place in the hearts of some of the biggest names in dance music, most of whom also have residencies at various nightclubs in the city. In the wake of the event, Diplo had pledged $100,000 towards helping the victims and long time Hakkasan group resident Tiesto went on to contribute $200,000 to the cause.

Speaking about the tragedy earlier last month before the fundraiser, Tiesto said:

“Las Vegas has become like a home to me, it’s an incredible city filled with great people and after last week’s tragedy, I immediately wanted to help in supporting the victims, their families, and the amazing first responders. In addition to direct donations that I have pledged, it was also extremely important to me that I perform to raise as much as possible I’m thrilled to team up with Hakkasan Group and the other artists performing for this special event at OMNIA in Las Vegas.”

The night had it’s fair share of amazing moments, however the Vegas resident herself, Céline Dion wasn’t about ready to let go of the spotlight in her own hometown. She took to the stage with Steve Aoki on the decks and lashed out a heartfelt rendition of her biggest hit ever, “My Heart Will Go On” as everyone took time to seize the moment and sing along. It didn’t quite end there though, we also saw the duo climb onto the decks and grab a quick moment to dance it out together post that! Anything can happen in Vegas right? Right!

Meeting and exceeding its goal of bringing the community together, and to further cement Vegas as the entertainment capital of the world, the total amount raised over the night from donations, ticket sales and all revenue stood at a strong  $1,000,000 plus. All of these proceeds raised from the event, were donated to the Las Vegas Victims Fund via the Direct Impact Fund, a non-profit that will took no fees or operating costs from the funds raised. Which means, 100% of the funds and donations made by each one of us went directly towards helping the victims and the cause.
