Hans Zimmer’s Set Blew Everyone Away at Coachella, Even the DJs
Weekend 1 of Coachella was a dream. Singers, bands, and DJ’s alike all graced the various stages with surprise guests and more.
Hans Zimmer even played a set, which I guarantee you’ve already heard about.
The German-born composer laid down a ground-breaking performance on Sunday. One of the most talked about sets of the weekend, he played some of his Academy Award-winning scores from movies such as Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, and more. He even brought out Pharrell to perform their song “Freedom.” In lieu of the typical guitars and CDJs that were the instrument of choice for many of the performers, Hans Zimmerman brought with him a full orchestra, choir, and breathtaking visuals to accompany him on stage.
When greeting the crowd during the beginning of the show, he said, “It takes a special kind of crazy person to bring an orchestra out into the desert… But, it had to be done, didn’t it?” And everyone was ecstatic that he was in fact “crazy enough” to bring his show to Coachella. Even notorious DJs took to Twitter to share their appreciation for his phenomenal set.
