Gorillaz Celebrates the Upcoming Release of “Humanz” with Live Art Project
Gorillaz have taken fans through a list of genres throughout their years of fame with their music being described as alternative rock, trip hop, electronica, reggae and more.
After selling over seven million copies of their debut album Gorillaz, this band rightfully earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Record s as the Most Successful Virtual Band. With this title came another album in 2005 titled Demon Days that reached five times platinum in the UK. Following this came a Grammy Award, a third and fourth album, and over 20 more years filled with wild success.
Still in the talk of the music scene in 2017, this band decided to do something a little different to celebrate the release of their newest album Humanz, which will be their fifth studio album set to release on April 28 th. Gorillaz teamed up with the City of Brussels and Urbana Project to put on a live art show bringing the 4 virtual members of the band to life. Four of Belgium’s best street artists worked side by side creating their different visions of Noodle, Russel, 2D , and Murdoc on the Brussels Grand Place. This live art can be streamed on The City of Brussels Facebook Page.
Speaking of streaming, Gorillaz has made Humanz available now for fans through the free Gorillaz app at 500 locations all over the world.
