5 Amazing Festival Lineups That Can't Be Ignored!

There’s more festivals now then ever before!

Every year is an interesting one during festival season. Returning festivals promise new changes as new festivals show promising hope. As a festival goer, you must be weary, you don’t want to end up like a Fyre Festival attendee. Though it's great festivals are finally starting to realize the festival experience should go beyond just the line up, let's not forget why we go to dance music festivals; for the acts we want to support and see! I’ve complied a list of the top 5 North America line ups that won’t disappoint.

This is NOT for best festival line-ups because certain festivals would have major advantages due to their budget. My plan is to stay away from obviously stacked lineups like Tomrrowland/EDC and instead give credit to line ups with diversity or selection. This is simply an opinion article highlighting solid line ups! This article is more focused on reliable line ups from established festivals that are sure to deliver no matter what VIP offers! Both the festivals and booking agencies deserve a shout for the following billings!

5. Ever After Music Festival

Ever After Music Festival is a small Canadian music festival that has managed to make waves with their bass focused line up this year. Ever After is only entering its 3rd year and returns with a line up that’s making the bass community travel from outside of the country just for the experience. The line includes a nice selection of bass and hop hop acts such as Bassnectar, Zeds Dead, French Montana, Excision and that’s just the headliners. The other acts playing this 3 day camping music festival include Black Tiger Sex Machine, Barley Alive, Eptic, Must Die, Zomboy, Snails, Boi-1da, Troyboi, Ghastly, NGHTMRE, Destructo and not to mention a b2b set with 12th Planet, Cookie Monsta AND Funtcase! This line up is a must attend for any bass fans and tickets are as low as $110 USD. Ever After Takes place Friday, June 2nd - Sunday, June 4th, 2017 and features waterslides, games, camping, vendors and more! For more information on the festival visit https://www.everafterfest.com. Check out the full line up below.

4. Movement

We can’t forget about the line up for Movement Music Festival in Detroit. The festival has become a fan favourite specifically for their diverse underground line ups. They also show support smaller, obscure and live acts. Not only do they have talented acts such as Cashmere, Drumcell, Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber, Chris Liebing, Seth Troxler, Ritchie Hawtin, Carl Cox and so many more, but there’s also a special set from deadmau5 as his scarcely used techno alias “testpilot”. Check out deadmau5 prepping his Testpilot set for Movement below (Spoiler Alert for those attending)! Movement a festival that welcomes experimentation and is a clear gem in the scene. This year at movement will be one to remember! Movement takes place from right now on May 27-29, 2017! More information is available at http://movement.us

3. Electric Forest

There’s nothing more reliable than Electric Forest giving it’s attendee’s a world class experience, but they never slip with the line up either! This is the first year the festival has expanded over two weekends and the line up did not take a hit by any means. This years line up includes A-Trak, Bassnectar, Dillon Francis, Big Gigantic, Aurograf, Chris Lake, Bob Moses, Dabin, Rezz, Pluto, Wheaten and those aren’t including any weekend exclusive artists. The line up is honestly astonishingly huge and unique for both weekends! The camping experience at the festival is like none other and continues to bring the acts people want to see. The first weekend of Electric Forest goes down June 22 - 25, 2017. June 29th - July 2nd, 2017 is the second weekend of the festival. Check out both stacked line ups below and get any remaining tickets at https://www.electricforestfestival.com while you still can!

2. HARD Summer Music Festival 2017

I think no other line up better represents the 2007 nostalgic era of electronic music than the 10th anniversary of Hard Summer Music Festival. Especially with acts such as Justice, Zeds Dead, Bassnectar, A-Trak, Brodinski, Busy P, Skrillex/Boys Noize (the revival of Dog Blood) and more. 2007 being the year HSMF launched, which was a pivotal time in electronic dance music and it’s rise. 10 years later and they haven't missed a beat. They also have a legendary representation from the 90’s era of hip hop with acts like Mobb Deep, E-40 and a rare throwback set by Snoop Dogg performing his classic ”Doggystyle” album! Aside from special sets from Snoop and Dog Blood, we have acts like DJ Snake, Skepta, Cashmere Cat, tchami, Malaa, Bauuer, What So Not, Whethan, Oshi and even the head of HARD events Destructo will throwdown! This festival is a great mix of new and old. The line up does anything but disappoint, check it out in full below. Every year they always put put a well produced and thought trailer with the artists performing, check out the latest below! and visit http://hardfest.com/ for more information.

1. Life is Beautiful

Life is Beautiful is a SOLD OUT annual festival taking place in Downtown Las Vegas from September 22 - 24th, 2017! This festival has a line up for fans of music, I think most acts are recognizable no matter what kind of music you favour. Good music is good music at the end of the day. Though the festival is not dance music focused there is a full representation of electronic acts such as Zhu, Pretty Lights, Kaskade, Tchami, Tycho, Mura Masa, Deorro, Zeds Dead, Matoma, Big Gigantic, Troy Boi, Ekali and more! Those acts alone could draw a festival crowd not to mention the rest of the line up filled with solid names like Chance The Rapper, MUSE, Gorrillaz, Lorde, Blink-182, The XX, Wiz Khalifa, MGMT, 2 Chainz, Vince Staples, Lil Dicky, De La Soul, Cage The Elephant, Sean Paul and countless others.
