MTV Live Gives us a Look at How Gary Richards and HARD Took Over the World
Even the most casual dance music fans are familiar with HARD Events; they have been a staple in the dance community for a whole decade. Introducing the brand-new documentary titled “HARD10: A Decade of Crashing Sound Barriers with HARD, Holy Ship! and Destructo”. MTV Live will be giving us an in-depth look at how HARD took over the dance music, and never looked back.
HARD Events was founded ten years ago in Los Angeles by Gary Richards. You may also know Richards from his music, performing under the alias, Destructo. HARD-branded events are known for their stellar productions, and their packed lineups. With artists from all over the musical spectrum, HARD-branded events always have something for everyone. Artists like Skrillex, The Weeknd, Die Antwoord, Porter Robinson, and Bloc Party, have all captivated crowds on one of the biggest stages in the world.
In a quote from the man himself:
“It’s incredible how much the HARD audience has grown and I’m thankful for all the fans around the globe that have come to celebrate with us at our festivals, stages and aboard HOLY SHIP! I am thankful for all the amazing artists who performed at the festival over the years. You really made HARD hard. I hope this MTV piece sheds some light on the past 10 year history of HARD and my life.”
The documentary airs Saturday, June 10th at 9PM ET on MTV Live. If you’re unable to tune in Saturday, don’t worry! On Monday, June 12th at 3:30PM ET, the Hard Events Facebook page will be streaming the entire documentary, as well as an exclusive Q&A with Destructo himself.
