Nile Rodgers worked with Avicii on New Chic Album
You may know Nile Rodgers from Daft Punk's "Get Lucky", but he made a name for himself with his band Chic in the late 70's. The disco inspired band will be releasing an album soon, which will make it their first in 25 years. Nile Rodgers & Chic will be going on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. In the meantime,
Nile has been making some appearances at festivals and collaborating with the likes of artists like Lady gaga, Avicii and of course Daft Punk. After Rodgers set at 2017's Mawazine Festival he sat down with The National and said:
"I don’t want the album to be just a tribute to Chic. I still continued to grow and kept writing new music. Thank God I met people like Avicii, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk and Pharrell and we all keep writing music, I also wrote the lyrics. You know, I don’t want to live in the past but it is a nice place to visit" .
Look out for Chic on tour, which kicks off July 13th, 2017 in California. The album is called "It's About Time" and though Rodgers has stated it will be out in 2017, no official date for the album has been released.
